is there a software where i can rip a dvd to my hdd, and play it using xp media center edition 2005, also is there a way i can get the menu to work on a full ripped dvd.

All DVD"s use the Same Video Format(Mpeg-2) so what Ripping Program you use Has Absolutly No Bearing on if you can Play the DVD or Not...

If you Have the Proper Decoders Installed on your PC then that is all you need to Playback a DVD on your PC and if you Can not Play back a DVD on your PC then useing a Different DVD Ripping Program is not going to help because all DVD"s are Pretty Much the Same as Far as Video and Audio Formats go....

If you Install a Software DVD Player Like WinDVD or PowerDVD then you will have the Proper Decoders Installed to Watch any DVD that has Been Ripped to your Hard Drive....

I personally use either "DVD decryptor" or "SmartRipper" to Rip DVD"s to My Hard Drive and then ise use PowerDVD to Play them Back..

You should "NOT" use Windows Media Player to Playback DVD"s on your PC because Media Player Ignores Aspect ratio Flags and displays Video useing it"s Resolution Instead which means that media Player will never give you a true Representation of how the Video will look when Played Back on your TV/DVD Player so you should allways use a Software DVD player like the Ones I mentioned which will also Playback the Menu"s and Chapter selections Properly were Media Player will not.....
