Editing .VOB files from MINI DVD CAM

Hey, i have recently purchased a Sony DVD602E Mini DVD camera. It works great and i can pop the mini dvd right into my dvd-rom drive and copy al lthe files to my hard drive for editing, however the editing program i am used to (adobe premiere) does not seem to support .vob files, i have installed countless codecs and now i can import the files if i rename them to .mpeg however the audi (AC3 Dolby) gets compressed to 16 bit stereo and goes out of sync!!!

Can anyone help me, im not sure if this belongs in this forum or dvd-r discussion :S, just want to know if anyone here edits the footage off their mini DVD camera with Premiere, or any other program.

I have a Sony DVD201E for about a year and love it. I now use ImToo DVD Ripper to rip it, and Nero + Video Edit Magic for the editing and burning.
I would like especially to recommend ImToo DVD Ripper which can rip DVDs (or mini DVDs) by whole disk, ifo, VOB, and chapters, makes everything so convenient with editing. It seems to have a trial period, so why not give it a go?
