wierd

this could be from the tv pipe wire making contact with the electrical cable on the DVD player, any contact between the two causes interference and occasional pauses and momentary breaks in signal

If you are losing channels in N*L Dublin, try this before doing a new autoscan:

Go to Key Manager, turn auto update off, go to Nagra, change your provider id to 0x55 (press left arrow four times) press ok, exit and turn auto update back on, exit and you should (hopefully) get your channels back. Worked for me anyway. Let me know how you get on.

Hi guy's, I'm not that familiar with the replay lite box... but thanks to some very helpful members on here I now know how to flash the box and add a channel dump.

But what I want to know how to do is do a channel scan on my replay lite box and then make my own channel dump by adjusting the channel file on my pc.

The way it is at present is I have a channel dump on my replay lite box, but even if I do a factory default, the same channel dump comes back on the box.

So what I really want to know is the process of rescanning my replay lite and then transfering the channel file to my pc and then re-arranging it on there and then transfering it back to my box.

Cheers guys :)

Hi Sandisk,

Open up the STBLINK and click on the Read Factory Data button and that will create a file called FACTORY_DATA. The file has 64 blocks of data and will take approx 1 min to copy. Save this file to your PC and when complete use Notepad or any other editor to rearrange to your liking. The channels will be towards the end of the file. When you have rearranged the file, save it, then open up the STBLINK again and click on WRITE FACTORY DATA button, select your file from the pc and clisk OK. This will then write the 64block file back to the Replay and Bob's your uncle!!!. Cheers...The Scaldy One!!!!

Hi Sandisk

To do a scan on your replay lite, go into user installation menu, then auto search. Set your symbol rate to 6887 (N*L Dublin) (if not your provider let us know who your provider is) and let it search. You should get all available channels but they won't be in any order. Put them in the order you want them on your replay lite and then update your factory data as in Scaldy's post and you will have them saved to your computer.

I don't know how long channel dumps will be useful for though as the cc's seem to be changing frequencies all the time and you might have to rescan regularly.

Thanks for the help guys :)

As you said Evastar we have no idea how long a channel dump will last, thats the reason I'm trying to suss this out for future ref.

Thanks scaldy I think I have that info taken in now :)
But what I don't want to do is just re-arrange the channel dump I have on my box now, so for me to do a fresh scan I have to go to "user installation", "symbol rate to 6887" as I'm in Dublin, and then hit the auto scan ? And this should over-write the channel dump I'm currently using ?

one last thing... In you's opinion, is it best to organize the channels in the order you want via through the box and the control OR just uploading the channel file to the pc and adjusting it like that?

Cheers guy's :)

Hi Sandisk, Sorting the channels on the box is as slow as a wet week. I prefer to do it on the PC, only takes a fraction of the time and then write the file back to the box....Cheers...The Scaldy One!!!

Ok I think I have it loud and clear now.

So even though I'm using a channel dump now, to update all my channels I just go to "user installation", "symbol rate to 6887" and hit auto scan.. this will over write my current channel dump and scan in all my channels again jumbles up.. so now I upload the new file to my pc and just use note pad to put the channels the way I want and then just load it back onto my box.. right ?

Thanks again :)

Factory default.

When I am using the box and am missing a few channels,
I make a note of them, then delete them.

I then so a Autoscan to find my missing channels/

When I have found them I make a note of the frequency they are on.

To get that frequency, press OK on your remote control and in the bottom left of the pop up box you will see the frequency EG299omh.

When you have your list of the frequencies.

Do a factory default and it will bring you back to your sorted chanels and your latest search will be gone.

Simply do a Manual for you missing channels using the frequencies you have.

To do a manual search.
Menu
User Installation
Manual Search....OK

Press the yellow button to edit your search.

Channel Number CH1
Frequency of your missing channel
Symbol Rate 6887
Constellation 64 QAM
Search By Network.....ON

Search.....

The search will find a number of channels which will be stored at the bottom of your current list.

Use the channel Manager to put them wherever you want and delete the new ones you already have.

It saves sorting all the channels and favs out again.

I brought the thread back the first page, so other replay users can see it, as some people arent bothering to search for posts and creating new omes about replays when this post does the job.

Hi MoonWB,

Delighted you got the 913 on your Replay PVR.

To check that the software was transfered, go to
Menu

Utility

Receiver Information....OK

SW Version should be 9.13

If this is so put a channel data file on the box.

Use this one if you haven't backed up your own.
http://www.speedyshare.com/664331132.html

It is for Dublin area but it might kickstart your box, then you can scan for channels.

Open up the Stblink..select "RUN"

Set Up Comm

Select "Write Factory Data" a prompt box will open for you to get the downloaded file.
Double click on the file and it will transfer to your box.

When your box reads good.

Unplug the power and null modem lead.

Power back up the box, you should see some channels.

Then do a scan for your area.

Best of luck M8ty
thanks mate

noticed a channel reshuffle tonight by ex N*L in manchester.

factory reset my Replay PVR and that buggered it! wouldnt switch on (go to green light)

your info worked above and ALL channels found with proper names.

I have now backed up the channel info and will try and put online for everyone

All the best

You have the correct symbol rate and provider id, so there shouldn't be any problem with doing an auto scan.

If you do one and lose channels let us know and someone will send you a channel dump.

On Ch*rus nthell in Meath - much the same as Dublin, I think - but lost loads of channels yesterday. Did full autoscan and got some back but still lots missing - RTE1&2, Sky1&2, UTV, Ch4, etc. After the scan, I just get a blue screen that intermittently goes black and then back to blue again for the missing channels.

Anyone else experience this? (I think that there's something odd about the cabling here. Someone said it's old and doesn't carry the full channel range that's avaialble in Dublin, but it hasn't effected us before now and I've had the box for aboout 8 months...)
