I am relatively new to the whole dvd ripping/burning scene. And I was wondering if you guys could tell me what you think is the best program for me to use, I want a program that can automatically decrypt my protected dvd's and then compress them on to a single 4.7 gig dvd-r with title and menus. Price doesnt matter and if theres a $100 program out there that can do this for me, tell me what the best one on the market is.

would you like something very good and free? search for dvd shrink and decrypter. there are guides in here on how to use them. yet i know for a fact that with the new protections comming out, these programs sometimes are not enough. if you are willing to pay for one, get the very reliable 1click dvd $ 59. you will read about this not being the best and that there are others better, i just recomending this one because of my recent experiences. i have all those other programs(i have not seen the difference in quality between 1lick and those other better programs and i have a 46 inch tv) and with the new protections they have all failed me at one time and everytime they fail me, i go back to 1click dvd which does the job 100% of the times . 1click dvd comes with one of the best burning software, copytodvd.

1 click is good i use it myself but u will need something like AnyDVD,DVD43 or idle pro running in back.

The best in my opinion is DVD XCopy Xpress, but you do need the afore mentioned AnyDVD or DVD43 running in the background for decryption. It is still available for purchase but not through 321Studios. They were ran out of business by the MPAA. You can find a link to it thru A D.

If price isn't a matter then buy CCE Basic, AnyDVD, and DVD-RB Pro(best 1 clicker IMO). Trust me, you'd be hooked up with that combo.

For smaller type "9's" that are two hours or less in length, just about any transcoder will do. But for much larger and longer lengthed films (frames count too at their frames per second and at their length) encoders are better. But that's another story. Before you decide to buy anything, try DVD Shrink first. It's free and a real trancoder contender. You can download it here at AD.


If you want to try something more sophisticated then go to this thread on AD and we'll help you get started. Read the first few posts and then surf to the last thread and ask away.
