Ok, I have been using my Action Replay to boot to GCOS 1.4 off of my memory card. I get into GCOS 1.4 just fine, but I am not able to boot any backups.
I have backed up Resident Evil 4 and Batman Begins using GCOS. The MD5 sums of the ISO files matched those stored on the online MD5 game database, so I know the backup was good. I burned both ISO files onto a FujiFilm Mini DVD-R at 4x using Nero Burning Rom 6.6.0.14. I also had the option checked to verify the data and Nero said that both discs passed the data verification process.
I tweaked my laser's pot so that it is at about 180 +/-. When I start GCOS's "Boot Game Backup" option, it will detect the name of the game and the region without any problems, but when I select the option to start the game, it just gives me a black screen.
Anyone know what I am doing wrong? I don't understand why GCOS would be able to properly detect the name of the game and region if the media was bad...or is this common?
But no DRE in originals, so laser is clean.
I suggest trying Efal07 loader, it's a bit better, i got too to work my games with it that wasnt working before.
Second, try to stream games you going to burn(if you have BBA).
Then, take burn proof off when you burning and burn at DVD's suggested speed and make sure DVD is clean, no fingerprints etc.
