Just purchased Memorex 100 pk printable discs and have had unable to write dvd9 error msg using clone dvd and dvd shrink. Is there a fix for this? or have i wasted money on these discs? They will burn up to either 45% or 58% then stop.have already thrown 12 away because of this. OK got a friend to help me with this: heres what he suggested. Get a copy of clone dvd version 2.8.4.1, when you back up a dvd to burn, set the burn speed to 6x, if you leave it a maximum the software tries to burn faster than the disc is rated for. I did what he sais and so far all the discs burned thru and play perfect.

Memorex in my opinion are about the worst you can buy.Try taking them back and telling them...."no matter what I tried I just couldn't get these to work".
If you can't take them back, you could try, first a firmware update, and then try burning slower, or shrinking your target size.
In the future you would be better served with media brands such as, Taiyo Yuden,or Verbatim.

I used to usse memorex and had alot of bad burns and coasters, they are pretty much junk like jim_dandy said, stick with Taiyo Yuden,or Verbatim, they are the best out there, since I switched to them have not made one coaster

Experience is the best teacher. Unfortunately you didn't read about or search memorex media prior to your purchase. If you can't return them you're probably SOL. I learned the hard way too when I first started making backups of my dvd's (as most of us probably have) but fortunately I only bought a 25 pack. Verbatum and taiyo yuden are the most recommended media's. Stay away from memorex, HP, phillips, bulkpaq, no name brands, and retail store branded media eg. staples, compusa.
