Those are the new Sony 1-16x certified "Supremas", with blue/green dye.
ATIP is as follows:

ATIP: 97m 24s 11f
Disc Manufacturer: Sony Corp.
Reflective layer: Dye (Long strategy; e.g. Cyanine, Azo etc.)
Media type: CD-Recordable
Recording Speeds: min. unknown - max. unknown
nominal Capacity: 656.40MB (74m 43s 00f / LBA: 336075)

My results: While Sony discs made by other factories are generally consistent, this one, made by Sony, was pretty chaotic. Slowdowns on the outer 50% of the disc and sometimes the disc would just refuse to be read on both my readers, but yet again read (albeit slowly) when it was reinserted.
Not recommended, some of the worst-performing discs I ever used.
Edit: Forgot to say. Burnt at 16x on an LG GCE-8160b, latest firmware.

Personally I have had good luck with Sony. No problems what so ever(not so many used), but I have read other reports similar to yours about Sony delivering bad results.

The old school is back. All hail the new http://BitBurners.com !

I have used sony as well. They seemed fine for data but I couldnt' get them to play in many cd drives leading me to believe the quality is low. I didn't perform any test's on them. It is safe to say that I will not buy them again.

Sony CD-R 650mb/74min
Product code:10CDQ-74NCP

ATIP: 97m 24s 01f
Disc Manufacturer: Taiyo Yuden Company Ltd.
Reflective layer: Dye (Long strategy; e.g. Cyanine, Azo etc.)
Media type: CD-Recordable
Recording Speeds: min. unknown - max. unknown
nominal Capacity: 656.40MB (74m 43s 00f / LBA: 336075)

This is nice. The Finnish Citymarket chain is these for 5.90EUR / 10pcs. These come in a very handy plastic box, but only with paper sleeves - to jewel cases. On the other hand the box seems very useful for carrying discs around or storaging them.

Seems to be old stock, since in a very small print on the back cover it says that these are 1-8x certified.

I bought a five pack of "Audio" CD-Rs last night on a whim.

Stats:

Sony 80min 5 pack in Slim Jewel Cases CD-R Audio "for music use" 5CRM80HT

This is the info:

ATIP: 97m 24s 11f
Disc Manufacturer: Sony Corp.
Reflective layer: Dye (Long strategy; e.g. Cyanine, Azo etc.)
Media type: CD-Recordable
nominal Capacity: 702.83MB (79m 59s 74f / LBA: 359849)

I will post again as soon as I've burned them and can talk about the results.

There is no need to buy "Audio CD-Rs" unless you have a stand-alone audio CD recorder. They are more expensive (copyright payments included) and are certified for much lower write speeds (stand-alone recorders can do 2x, I think.
