DVDs play OK but not in Windows

DVD Shrink & Nero burn DVD-R's OK and they play in all machines I've tried even my XBox BUT when I try to play them on my comp Windows freezes and I have to use TaskManager to shut down. What gives?

Do have any type of DVD playing software on your PC? (WinDVD, PowerDVD ect..)
