Cube randomly crashing

Hi, my cube has been happily modded with a viper chip for quite some time now, and I've gone through bios' 0.3 - 1.2 with no problems what so ever... With past two weeks having exams i haven't had my cube on for about 3 weeks, but when i turned it on it crashed on me (black screen, LED turns off, reset button not responding, but fan keeps turning), it keeps on randomly crashing from within 1 second of getting into the Viper menu to 10 minutes within playing a game, no matter is I choose to play with the original Bios or the Viper one.

I opened it up, hooked up the cable, got an error when doing a comparison between what was on the chip and the 1.2 bios image i still had on my drive so i figured this was the problem, After flashing it the comparison came out ok... However when I turned on my cube today i got the same problems again as before...

Has anybody had similiar problems or does anybody know what's wrong?

(i haven't had the oppertunity to open up my cube again, will do so tomorrow to do another comparison...)
