Hi,

I bought some dvd media for GBP58.

25packs TDK X16 (2 Cakeboxes)---- Made in Taiwan
50 Maxwell X8 (1 cakebox)-- Manufacture in Japan
25packs Fuji (2 cakeboxes)-- Manufacture in Japan --- Taiyo Yuden
50 TDK Cdr (1 cakebox)--- unknown

Please advise me if whether I made the right choice.

you are good w/ the maxell and fuji made in japans...i'm not so sure of the TDKs as you MIGHT have gotten some CMC MAG, but, without the knowing the particular format (whether dvd-r or dvd+r), i do not know for sure.

give me some media codes and i will offer more advice~ :)

don't know much about cd media, i have many cds from the past that ALL play perfectly, i don't know the media codes on them and it really doesn't matter to me, it's the DVD media we need to worry about here~ :) reason being, im SURE you spent MORE of your well earned money on the blank dvds than you did for the blank cds :P

The TDK dvd blank disk Manufacture ID was TDK Corp and the code ID was 003.
The dvd disk I bought was made in Taiwan.

The dvd blank disk was dvd r+.

I heard that nowaday Japan no longer manufacture dvd disks and most of the blank dvd disks was made in Taiwan.(Heard from the retailer shop)

Is that true???/

I was very confused when I check with dvd identifier which said

well, a LOT of media does come from taiwan, but, that comment is NOT entirely true as Taiyo Yuden will ALWAYS be made in japan~ :P and in my opinion are the best media out there~ :)

well, your tdk discs might be ok on your setup, give them a run, see how they perform, i have not had any experience w/ tdk coded media myself, as the only one i am familiar with are the CMC MAG crap that tdk uses sometimes on their media~ those tdk coded ones might be pretty good for you, it's really how YOU like them rather than what other people say about them :) comes down to how they perform for YOU~

you and i can read ALL the reviews from hundreds of people around the world, but, the bottom line is how YOU review them with your setup and stand alone dvd-players, let me and other know what YOU think of them~ i can not give you a definite answer to tdk coded media as i have NO experience with them~ good luck~
