Hi all,
Can anyone tell me how I can determine whether the laser on my ps2 is broken? My PS2 won't load (not always disc read error, but most times just continually loading with no effect) and has a new high pitched noise coming out of the dvd bay. I don't know whether my laser is broken or it's something other problem.
Any relevant suggestions are welcome.

If your PS2 has a warranty take it back to where you bought it and let them give you another one. But if you dont have a warranty then you can go ahead and clean the laser using a soft towel (not wet). If that doesnt work then you can try adjusing your laser here http://www.cyber-mag.com/station/laserPS2.htm and see if it works.
