Locking up after activating CloneCd-DVD

I am attempting to try out the ELBY CloneTrio (AnyDVD,CloneCD,CloneDVD)
I am understanding that the CloneCD will also do the DVD's. Whenever I activate CloneCD in the log it gets to the "Searching for SCSI/ATPI" line it freezes up...in fact it freezes to the point that the Task Manager can't shut it down...Then the Task Manager can't shut Windows down. Then nothing else works because the alert window says that Windows is attempting to shut down. But it never does and I have to hit the power button. Everything else seems to be working properly until I try CloneCD. Even if I am able to shut down CloneCD it still remains in the Task Manager processes and the dysfunction remains.

I am using
Windows XP Pro Corporate
Iomega Zip CD burner 8x4x32 set to DMA
Cybermedia DX082D w/150 upgrade bios set to DMA
Nero 6.6 Ultra
SB Live 5.1
Conexant video card

Nothing else seems to cause this problem or have any trouble accessing the CD/DVD drives and changing to PIO makes no difference. Any suggestions would be helpful. It does not happen in CloneDVD but then again CloneDVD does not seem to do this bus search.

Just a small side question
My brother did some DVD backups that I borrowed to watch...they all play on my entertainment centers DVD player but only a few of them aren't seen on my PC. The PC says there is no media there. They were burnt on his PC and he used the same Media (DVD+R)and burner.
