Hi,

I'm having problems with Winfast TV2000 XP capture card.

I can't seem to get any s-video or composite signal from my VCR

I'm using a panasonic VCR with a scart - composite, and have also tried a scart - s-video.
No signal.

Any suggestions?
(I am able to watch TV fine!)

Thanks in advance
Nick

Whenever I hear of this Sort of Problem it is allways with someone useing a Scart adapter which is were I think your Problem is because I know most of the Time Scart to S-Video doesn"t work Properly....

Maybe Try useing a VCR that you do not have to use any Adapters to hook up to your PC??

And set your source in your capture device properly.

Guys,

thanks for your replies.

Sorry if I'm being silly, but I'm a newbie at all this.
My video capture card has an input with several rows of pins. This adaptor has s-video and composite on the other end.
This then has to be connected to my VCR, which has scart, standard TV arial coax, and 2 audio outs (L&R).

I've tried taking the arial from VCR to the card (I can get TV with a normal arial), but no signal from VCR this way.

I can't see how I can connect my VCR up without an adaptor of some sort.

I've also looked through TV, S-video in and the other source.
What other options should I change to correctly set my capture setting?

Thanks again for your help

Nick

Well Most VCR"s that I have owned have a RCA/Composite Video output (Yellow) and a Left and Right RCA/Composite Audio Output (Red and White) and you would Normally run a RCA Cable from the RCA Video output into the RCA/Composite Input on the TV Card and the RCA Audio outputs would hook into your Sound Cards "Line In" port...

This way there are no adapters used for the Video but I guess you are Probably in Europe were all VCR"s have Mostly just a Scart outputs??

If all else fails, set the VCR to output on channel 3 (this is usually the default).
Plug the regular cable from the VCR to your capture card (where the TV cable normall goes).
Set your capture software to channel 3, and hit play on the VCR, and record in your software at the same time.
