Why is it that some movies (the movie itself, not all the menus and extras and stuff) could be the same length and same quality, but one will be much larger in size? I've never really seen this talked about and i am curious as to why this is. Is it the kind of encryption the dvd makers use or something? And if it is, why isnt the quality reduced? Anyways, maybe someone else will know something more than i do, so any info would be great.

it all depends on the content of the movie,i have had this discussion before,but cant seem to track down the thread

look at it like this

when a movie is created,each frame when made looks for repeats of different colours on each pixel,and trys to repeat itself
the more detailed and varied the film,the bigger the size will be.
i may have got the termanogoly wrong here,but you should get the idea

for example..

if you had a 5 minute film of say,just a black screen.the size maybe for example 10 mb's,
but if you had a 5 minute film clip of a sci-fi film like starwars,
the size maybe 20 mb's
