I download a subtitle file. It is .srt format. I use Subtitle Creator to make a .sup stream. After that, i use IfoEdit to put it with the video and audio. Then, it suppose to be done. But when I play back to check it, the subtitle becomes a green bar thing. Cant see no word. So, what did i do wrong? I think i made a mistake on the adjustment of the color of the subtitle in Subtitle Creator. But i don't know how to make it correctly.

Seeking for help~~

joekwan...

it happened the same thing to me following the very same procedure you're doing but....

I have found another program that can help that....

Subremap: http://www.shipleys.eclipse.co.uk

That program corrects the color of subtitles. So far it has proved really useful for me and has helped me in all of my projects.

I had try to use the Subremap to edit the color of the sup file.
But i am really confuse on the its function. There is some blank in the 'SUP File' and 'IFO File' part. I am not sure how to put in the color i expect. Anyway, i try hard to figure it out myself. Well, but the outcome is, a bold, pretty messy, green words. I just don't know why is the subtitle turn green itself..!? So, i think i still don't get it right...

So, can you give me a procedure that is step by step?
Thank you~

joekwan,

I have found a good guide about subremap here:

http://www.shipleys.eclipse.co.uk/supremap.htm

Ít's easy to follow and it's part of a step-by-step procedure that involves srt2sup as well and it's intended to guide people about how to do good subtitles. It has helped me a lot. Hope it's useful for you too...

Thank you~~

Last question, do i have to also edit the IFO file in order to effect the color of the subtitle?

Using subremap has been more than enough for me

Um... I still got a problem here~~
I follow the guide and finally, I know how to make the color of the subtitle as my expectation. But the last thing is,
when i got to burn the whole thing (Using Nero), it said
'DVD-Video Files compliance test failed. The resulting DVD-Video might be unplayable.' And i later find out that problem is kind of associate with 'VTS_01_0.IFO' and 'VTS_01_0.BUP'.
So, what should i do with the BUP file? Should i just burn it anyway??

Mmhhh, this is weird.... never happened to me... In general I use subremap immediately after SRT2SUP...

Have you followed this guide? http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/convert_avi_to_dvd.cfm

I have never found any mistakes following it... but remember the subremap step that is not included here...

In general, BUP files are not used for anything... they are BackUP files of the IFO

Is that mean like even the BUP file has been delete, the movie is still gonna work well in any player?? Anyways, i am still gonna burn that and see if it can be play properly in my DVD player.
Thank you though

Well, in some cases, when ripping certain damaged (scratched) discs I had to omit the BUPs and the new compilation worked perfectly well.
