I can capture high quality .avi files with AVI_IO then edit them with VirtualDub, convert them to SVCD with TMPGEnc, then burn them with Nero. I get great results with small files.

I want to capture about 60 minutes of video to put onto a single SVCD, but the avi file exceeds the 4GByte limit so AVI_IO creates multiple files. My question is where should I recombine the files into a single file?

I have tried combining the mpeg files, but it doesn't give a seemless transition. I have tried using VirtualDub as a frame server but when I start the frameserver it says "Frameclients installed: None". Is there something else I need to install?

Unfortunately I couldn't find anything in the guides. Some hinted at it, some ingored it, but none gave details (maybe I was looking in the wrong place :).

Appreciate any help given.

What filesystem do you have?? You need the NTFS file system to support files over 4gigs. WinXP uses NTFS and other windows use FAT32 (which has a 4gig file restriction!)

I have NTFS but the file size restriction is in the avi spec, not the disk file system. That is why AVI_IO splits the files. The capture program that came with my capture card stops when the file reaches 4G, that's why I use AVI_IO.

Have you used the frameserve option in VirtualDub? I wanted to know if there is a different setup that I need to make it work.
