yeah nemesis was okay. my favorite was insurrection, the third one. but the most popular one is the second one, first contact where they go back in time to earth. But hey, I'm a tng trekkie so I like 'em all

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

I belong to Netflix mainly to get movies you cannot find in the Video Stores. I usually do not rent the new release from Netflix because you are at their mercy when it comes to getting them, probably takes about two weeks to get a new release it is faster to go to BB. But for hard to find movies it is a good source. Netflix has got a better selection then BB Online.

My sister uses Netflix to get new releases since regular stores seem to not carry enough. We've never had them delivered late, just about 1 or 2 business days. We also had no problem with the service other than a disk that had a problem in the middle of the movie, but hey, who's perfect? I would recommend Netflix for they have an awesome selection and a good overall service.

I use BB on-line and my son uses NetFlix. They each have their pros and cons and we try to coordinate with each other so we don't both get the same movies. I'm sometimes surprised at how long you have to wait with BB for new releases. One extra with BB is they give you 2 coupons each month that you use in the store.

I use BB as well. Every now and then, they will cross my movies in the mail. Let me clarify: The distribution center is about 150 miles from me. It usually only takes a day for them to get my returns and the same for me to get my next movie. Every now and then, I will put a movie or two in the mail that morning, and they will have the next one coming that afternoon! So, there's like 5 movies in my shipped queue sometimes...

BB & NetFlix both probably use the same distribution center. My son returns his NetFlix to a PO box in Gaithersburg, MD and I return BB to Gaithersburg. We compared the PO boxes once and they are pretty close in numbers.

We are both in northern VA so it is a really quick turn-around for us.

I have a BB close to me too but I can't drive so I'm not able to get them on my own time. Is there any site for new movie releases on DVD?

I use em both. Can't really complain except when I slack on managing my queues and get the same movies twice. But who's fault is that one? I do the BB thing online just because they give you 2 free instore rentals that can be used on games and games where I live are $7.50 ea. so that pays for itself right there.

Actually, when I first started using BB's online service they took forever to send my movies. Then I sent them an email telling them how much they sucked and I was going to Netflix, they've been good to me ever since.

I also use both Netflix and BB online. I like those 2 free coupons BB gives. Both have distributions centers about 25 miles from me so I usually get my movies in 1 day. They also receive them the day after I mail them.
I've rarely have a problem getting new releases from either. I mail them so they have the movies back every Monday.

Does anyone know where to find out where a BB or Netflix distribution center is located? I live in the Syracuse/Rochester are of New York.

Thanks.

trock0002 - I've tried getting that info from both companys - they act like giving me this would undermine nat'l security :). According to both they will not release it. Whatever.
I do know of 2 (both companys seem to have distributions center in the same city & state) Gaithersburg, Md. and Charlotte, NC.

I've used BB and Netflix. In the first month they were both very fast. BUT if you are a power user like me, they will slow down to a crawl. I went from getting 6 movies a week down to just 2. That's when I canceled.

They mostly have widescreen because that is what most people want. I want to see what the director wanted me to see, not some half-assed gimp in an editing suite (or wherever they do it) telling me what I can see!
Don't know many people who like fullscreen. I absolutely HATE it with amazing passion!
