I've heard that the DMS 4 EZI Lite Solderless is a pretty good modchip, then when I was at the store, I noticed DMS 4 EZI Lite Solderless AND DMS 4 EZI Pro Solderless. I searched a bit on here, and couldn't really find the difference. The only thing I heard was that Lite was a simpler setup somehow, can someone tell me what the difference is?
Also, I was wondering if there was any disadvantages of going solderless instead of using the solder, besides price.
Thanks in advance!

There is really no disadvantage w/ going solderless, it does the same thing as a soldered DMS4 chip does.
The only difference between the Lite and Pro is this,
"DMS4 Pro has a 2MB flash to store Homebrew ELF files within the internal flash memory. The DMS4 Pro has all the features of the Lite, further it boasts enhanced security, larger flash memory and will have extra features added in software at no extra cost in future update builds. The ultimate upgrade for the hard core PS2 user! Compatible with PSTwo Slimline."

I ordered my chip (DMS 4 EZI Pro Solderless) from modwhiz.com. It came quick, and it's working beautifully. I checked their shipping page, and it was about $30 USD for international orders. I'm not sure what that would be in AUD, though.
@PimpDawg: Just wanted to say, your sig rules! Haha, "Marvelous."

Well, I'm a huge fan of mod-chip.com and have always had great service from him. But I have also had great experiences w/ modwhiz.com as well. mod-chip delivered faster than modwhiz, and that is the main reason why I switched to him.

Did some math for ya, and her is what I got:
Mod-Chip.com
$124.10 AUD for UPS shipping
$108.30 AUD for Express Mail
Modwhiz.com
I calculated it up and used a currency convertor (http://www.xe.com/ucc/) and I got:
$138.76 AUD
Looks like the better deal is with mod-chip.com. I could have saved a couple bucks if I ordered from there too, ha!

so you cant play games online with mod chips right? you can turn them off but then you need the swap magic to boot the game?

Yes. You patch the DNA's for your backup just like with Swap Magic. If the DNA's are patched, there's no need to turn the chip off. The Crystal Chip 1.1 auto patches DNA ID's, so you wouldn't have to patch them manually. The Crystal Chip is a good chip, it's just not quite as good as the MI or DMS 4 Pro SE. The CC doesn't support cheat devices like ARMAX or GS.

You have to disable it to play originals online. As long as you patch your backups DNA ID's, then you can play backups online with the chip enabled. Error code 833 is a region error. You can only patch backups for your region. I.E. if your PS2 is NTSC, you can only patch NTSC backups. Need Proof: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/294314

my PS2 Slim is ver13. Japan NTSC. I patched a Burnout3 NTSC disc and Call of Duty 2 NTSC disc...both gave DNAS error 833. I use Messiah modchip.
So can i still play online with my backup games. (which only load with the modchip enabled ? ).
And if its the region error...why didnt COD2 or Burnout3 run ?? :\
cud u like throw some light on that ?
