HI...
I´ve spent my whole weekend burning some DVDs, but just this morning all my DVD´s ran out. So I went and bought a brand new 50pack of recordable DVD´s, but my PC can´t recognize them.
It´s the same brand as the ones before (Princo).
The shop is closed now, so I can´t go to find out if the DVDs are the problem, but I can´t stop thinking about it.
Is it possible that 50 brand new DVDs turned out to be defective?? And if so, can I do something about it, or I´ll have to wait till tomorrow to exchange them???
Thanx

Though there is a possibility you have a defective 50 pack of blanks, you may just need to update your firmware. The reason I say this is because I noticed you said you bought the same brand, not the same speed. Whenever you buy discs that are rated faster than your burner, there is a good chance you'll need to update your burner's firmware.
If that doesn't do it, exchange those pieces of shit when the store opens. If you're in the states, BestBuy has 50pks of Verbatim for $19.99 and 100pks of Fuji(the ones that say made in japan are Taiyo Yudens) for $39.99.

princo are bottom of the rung in terms of quality media, on MANY MANY websites that review media, princo is at the very bottom, or 4th tier at the very best~ :) exchange those blanks for what wolfnggr suggested, TY and Verbs are GOOD quality media, stay away from those princo~ i've had miserable experiences with them in the past as well personally~

... If they're cheap enough, Princo discs are good for target practice ... But that's about it ... Even Memorex (ha ha ha) are better ...

:) thanks for the compliments nohelpme~ i don't have any nice pictures to back up my sick system like aabbccdd, but, it serves it's purpose, i get excellent quality burns at a pretty fast pace~ :)
i am pretty excessive in every piece of electronic hardware i touch, so, yeah...when is ANYONE going to ever need 4 gigs of memory? i probably never will, but at least i won't have to upgrade in the near future :P

yeah, i like to MAX out everything i can~ my motherboard can only have 4 gigs maximum, so i went ahead and did it~ :) i guess building comps for other people became tiresome for me, so i built one for MYSELF~ :) nice treat after all the work i've put into building computers as a hobby for others~ bout time i had a decent one myself~

@aabbccdd
i actually prefer nvidia cards :) even though that vid. card you have ranks higher on the newer games in terms of frame rates, etc. i have a geforce 6800 ultra~ using (2) 24" Dell widescreen monitors w/ dual dvi output side by side~ :)
but yes, so far it's fairly decent~ :) my 2 lcds actually have 12 MS response time, so it's quick enough for me :P
