Heres the deal.
Today I bought a NEC ND1000.
I installed it, xp found it, first as a dvd+rw burner, then as a cd-rom.
Alright I thougt, but how wrong I was!
In the properties for "this computer" it was found only as a cd-rom.
Tried nero, it didn´t found more than a image drive rocorder.
Then i restrapped the jumpers on the burner.
Wow I thougt, it found it as a DVD-cd burner, but no, no no no, Nero didn´t found it.
What to do?

Thanks!

Try and use the updated ASPI drivers for win32 OS that helped me get my drive detected. Windows sees my NEC ND-1000A as a DVD/CD-RW drive.

Good luck, I love this DVD+RW. XBOX RULEZ man

OfficeMax in Orlando Florida. I bought a Verbatim DVD+Producer on sale. They have $60 instant rebate, $40 mail in rebate, and the list price was $273. $173 for a 2.4x DVD+RW isn't bad at all. I was pleasantly surprised when I got it home and saw it was a NEC ND-1000A. Nero 55.10.7b works great with it, no worries here at all.

Good luck finding one, you wont be disappointed.

Download Adaptec's ASPI Layer here: http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/drivers_by_product.html?sess=no&language=English+US&cat=/Product/ASPI-4.70&prodkey=Windows+ASPI+Package

Also check that you are using the latest version of your burning software.

I got a Verbatim DVD+Producer. Windows XP sees it as a NEC ND-1000A. I can't record because windos is telling me that I don't have a recorder. In the properties for "this computer" it was found only as a cd-rom.
I need drivers or something/ This thing is so confusing.
