I have DVD's previously with no problem. But with this one movie I can't even make a back up file to my HD without it stopping 1/4 of the way through. When I open the disc using DVD Shrink it also stops at about 25% and gives a MS-DOS error. I'm using DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter. This particular DVD makes unusual noises while loading in my laptop and home DVD player but plays fine and looks undamaged. Is it me, the DVD, or what?

TJCALS9,

You might consider thinking about a post before writing it ~

I don't know if this is a complaint or perhaps you're looking for someone with telepathy to answer your question ?

You could toss in some random facts if it's a question ~

For example:

Does this movie have a name ?

Is it a commercial DVD, a bootleg or a copy ?

(So many different possibilities depending on this answer ~)

You say you're using DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter,
Why are you attempting to rip with DVD Shrink which is a year out of date with it's ripping ability instead of DVD Decrypter which will rip everything on the market today ? (I really would LOVE to sea this answer.)

You say you are receiving an error when you use DVD Shrink to rip,
Do you think that the error could possibly be of any assistance to us ?
If it's a secret, I understand BUT if it could be of help, why won't you tell us what it says ?

~ Just a small thought, if you had thought to a ripping program (DVDD) for ripping, you could have had a log that you wouldn't have to post also ~ no sense in breaking a tradition. (Lol)

Do you by any chance mean that your laptop and your standalone player make noise when you place the disc in ? Seaing as how the disc has no moving parts with which to make noise, I would have thought that this would seem more likely.

Ooohh yes, in case you decide to go really wild and use a decrypting program to decrypt, could you tell us what settings you have on DVDD ? Crazy as it seems, it could be of some help -

Awaiting your answers -

Pete

what pete is really saying (quite eloquently I might add) try to rip with decrypter if you get an error copy &paste the log from decrypter back here it will most likely say cyclic redundancy error if so the original is most likely scratched dirty faulty or non compliant with your rw but first let's focus on the copy paste procedure mentioned above if you need further instructions please ask
