Breaker Pro disc won't load at all. Half of the time, my PS2 tells me its not a valid disc and the other half it just makes a lot of grinding noises for awhile before returning to the place where you pick memory cards and stuff.

And help would be appreciated.

Nada...

Ok, so its like this. I've been trying to boot this breaker pro disc and so far no luck. I've tried resetting as it sounds like it's loading. Unplugging the memory card and turning it off and on. Nothing
no luck. I get no data message, then followed by invalid PS2 disc. I know the PS2 doesn't like cd-r's but this is ridiculous. Any help?

Fear not the Breaker Pro master is here. Check my FAQ here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/230987 Any further questions post what game your trying to boot and the method you are using (slide card or flip top) and I'd be happy to help you. If you are using a burned copy of breaker pro it won't work, you MUST have an original disk. Other possiblilties include a scratched or dirty laser lens or disk. If you read my FAQ and still can't get it working post all your info and we'll work it out. Good Luck!

Well I have the original software disc, not a copy, that I bought for $20 at consolepoint.com, and the problem is that it's not reading in my PS2, I have swap magic and slide card and have no problems at all. So I'm thinking maybe a faulty disc or something. Unless there's some trick of getting it to load.

Yeah if you follow the steps in my FAQ and it still doesn't work, you're probably right. The first disc I received from the site I ordered it from was scratched to hell so I had em send me another one. It ended up the first one did work so I have a backup. Well hopefully they send you another one or refund your money. You could always go to bbb.com and search the better business bureau data base to see if you will have any issue getting a return or exchange. Good luck.

it's also likely that your PS2 has trouble PS1 discs in general. In which case I believe you'd have to adjust the lens voltage or whatever

Most likely it's a bum disc. You may want to clean the laser with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol. I've had instances where one game would freeze and other's would run fine, which could explain why Swap Magic works and Breaker Pro doesn't. You may wanna clean your laser, or just order a new Breaker Pro.

I've ordered a lot of things online, and there always sites that will try to take advantage of people. A lot of it is in how you phrase your emails. Lot's of cursing and grammatical errors won't get results. Phrases like "I want what I am entitled to" and "if you value my business then I suggest you rectify the situation" tend to get better results, maybe even threaten to file a complaint with the better business bureau. In dealing with these types of sites, knowledge is power. A REPUTABLE site will fear recourse such as the bbb because they realize that someone may read your complaint and decide not to conduct business with them. It's a lot cheaper to refund or exchange your order than it is to lose out on 100's of dollar's of potential future business. Also sometimes you have to call these sites to get anything done, certain sites are notorious for not responding to emails. Be persistent and likely you will get your refund or exchange. A little off topic, but I know how frustrating it can be to deal with shady merchants. Good Luck.
