When I copy a DVD Movie or create a Home Dvd movie and go to play it back somewhere while watching it freezes up . Sometimes it restarts and sometimes it don't.I have used different types of programs and differant brands of blank DVDs.I seem to have less problems when I play them in a progressive scan Player. I am wondering if it could be the DVD burner in my computor. Please help if you can.

I had similar problems until I lowered my burn speed to 4x. Other things that may contribute to skipping or freezing are multi tasking while your encoding or using bad media. I would recommend fuji brand media but make sure its the made in Japan.

My burner is older avaerage speed used is 2x .I have used fuji DVDs not sure if they were made in japan.

Similiar problem: converted Xivd to dvdr, it plays fine on the computer in windvd. Got ts-video folder, burn speed was 4x (did burn with roxio (copy dvd), I know it has caused problems with some here, but up until now had done 20 successful backups, but this was the first conversion and burn) and used maxell dvdr (15 suc. burns with this, 5 with ty) but it freezes at same point in Pioneer dvd.

Is roxio my problem, codex (but does play on computer), maxell, dvd player? Or did I miss a step? Thanks

Same problem. I use Roxio Easy DVD copy too with Imation disks. When i watch the disk it is fine for a while and then after a while it freezes too and keeps freezing and unfreezing for the rest of the disk. Tried shrinking with DVD Shrink and burning with DVD Decrypter but had the same problem again. It had all worked fine for a while but after 20 or so disks the problem began. Even Roxio was fine for a while. Someone said i might have a virus on my computer. Is this true?? I don't know what to do!!
