-Program: Use DVD Decrypter and everything should work ok.
-Media: Use Verbatim, Maxell, TDK, Philips, etc.
-Speed: Burn at 2x for best quality.
Use that above and everything should go ok.

And by the way, You need to have a Modchip or Swap Magic "original" DVD and CD. Those are to play your backup. If you dont have one of those above, just forget about backing up your games.

I use Alcohol 120% for every game I've backed up. I've never made a single coaster yet. If you're creating the ISO from your game, just make sure that you go into the Image Making wizard and on the bottom, you'll see a drop down menu that says Datatype with Customize in the box. Pull that down to read Playstation 2 and Alcohol 120% should give you the optimum Read settings for making your image.
For burning, I either mount the image (if made by Alcohol 120%) or just go straight into the Image Burning Wizard. Select the slowest speed your media will allow (usually 2.3x) and leave all the options alone. Make sure you use QUALITY media. Spend the extra few bucks on your DVD-Rs to ensure you have good burns. Verbatim -R disks seem to be the disk of choice. Also, make sure your version of PS2 can handle the type of disk you're burning to. My V7 PS2 for some reason prefers Sony +R media over Verbatim -R. Things just seem to run better on those, so that's what I use. If you have an older PS2, it may not read the +R media if that's what you're using.
If you downloaded the ISO, it very well could be that the person you got it from screwed up making the ISO.... just the chance you take from downloading someone else's image.
Most often than not, people get problems backing up games by using cheap DVD media. If all else fails, look for a firmware flash for your DVD writer. It could be that it's bios is a little out of date and needs a reflash.

LOL A coaster is... I guess you can call it slang. Its a word used for a useless burned disk. If you burn a disk that doesn't work for its intended purposes, there's nothing better to do with it than maybe set your beer on. An actual coaster is that little piece of cardboard you get at a pub to set your beer on to protect the wood underneath.

serrano you do the same damn thing in every thread (double post).
if your burner is one of the newer ones (1620, 1693s, 716, or 3540 among others) burn at 4x cuz these things are optimized for higher speeds. if ya got an older one (like 811s, 1213s, 1600 etc). or better way 12-16x burners do 4x. 4-8x burners do it at 2x.
also use best media possible. alcolhol is fine since dvddecrypter is dead unless ya get a copy off p2p or something.
playstation 2 tab is only for cds unfortunately (dvds have no options)

I am trying to copy a PS2 game and I can't figure it out.
I have used the image making wizard and selected Ps2 as the media type. I then continue to copy and it saves to the computer. After that I used the image burning software to burn it and used a Memorex dvd- for the disk. after this is all done I try to play the game and it pops up with a red screen and says please in a playstation or a playstation2 format disk. Is there something that I am doing wrong with this. I do not know what else to do. Is this not possible for me to or is it. Thank you ahead of time for nay help with this matter.
I am new to this stuff!!
