Hi all,

can DVD Shrink perform a split disk? I have 8.5 gigs of video of a movie and would like to split it into to 4.3 g dvd disks. Can this be done woith DVD shrink? In other words I don't not want any compression, I want to retain the orginal viedo quality....

Yes you can slit a movie using DVD Shrink in re-author mode and using the start and end frames, but you will not be able to keep your menus. Guide at

An easier way is to download the trial version of AnyDVD and CloneDVD2, you can split your movie and retain your menus on both disks. Guide at

thanks for the info..

BTW, I did copy an 8.5 gig movie to the single DVD 4.3 gig using the sharper setting and the double scan method in DVD Shrink.. The video quality was outstanding. It took longer but its the video quality that matters.. I do not care for the Auto method in this software. (single scan in the default sharp setting) The degrade in video is noticable IMHO..

I have used DVD Shrink doing deep analysis and quality enhancements for larger movies and they have come out fine. I have also used Nero Recode2 for a 3 hour movie and it comes up pretty good. Usually what I like to split is TV series because the quality is not that good to begin with and compressing doesn't help so splitting at least gives the best picture you can get.
