Thanx

Hi there,

If you have large MPG files, first thing you can do is convert them to DVD format (.VOB) using VSO DivXtoDVD v0.5.2b.

Once you have that VIDEO_TS directory, if the end result is bigger than 4.3 Gb, then you can use shrink on it.

But quality will decrease, but it's what I would try.

My 2 cents...

Hi there,

It's an 8 Gb MPG file ?

Ouch, DivXtoDVD you generate you a HUGE output probably.

I usually convert 700mb AVI files, and the end result is close to 2 Gb on average. I wonder if the ratio still applies to MPG files.

Make sure you have tons of free space on your drive if you convert it using DivXtoDVD :)

Else, someone else might have an idea, or suggest an other software !

It is an home-made movie generated from 2 AVI files with 20 G's EACH captured from an Hi-8 video camcorder.
I've done this so that I could put all of the effects, transitions, etc. that I wanted.
The MPEG file is the result of that work.
offtopic: by the way, all of the work has been done with Pinnacle Studio 9, but not with chapters, do you/anyone know a program that convert and generates chapters automatticly?
Don't say WinDVD Converter, 'cause I'm sick of that program, I've got ALL the codecs and still it gives errors when trying to convert!
