HD Advance 2nd controller

I have HD Advance 2.1, and I'm wondering if there's a way I can use a controller in port 2 to select and run games.
Most of the games I have on my HDD are the Beatmania IIDX series, which have a special controller. At the moment it means that every time I want to load up a game, I need to plug a normal controller into port 1 to choose it, then change it over to the IIDX controller. I can plug the IIDX controller into port 2 but it means I have to play the game left-handed (which I suck at).

Half the reason I installed a hard drive was so I didn't have to keep going to my PS2 to swap discs, but since I have to swap cables it kind of defeats the purpose...

I'm using an extension cable so I don't have to reach that far to swap it over, but it's still annoying :(

Is it possible to buy or make a double adapter? I guess this would kinda solve my problem even if it's pretty dodgy :)

so i'm assuming that you've already tried to use a regular controller in port 2 to select games in HDA?
