WinTV Problem - Please help

I just got the Hauppauge PVR USB WinTV and I went through the set up. I have the cable line going directly to the USB box. the drivers are installed. Windows Guide found my cable hookup. Now here's my problem.

1. The channels are not coinciding with the Guide. If you are on Channel 20 which is supposed to be MTV, it's actually the Oxygen channel.

2. A lot of the channels are coming through scrambled as if it was scrambled porn.

3. The channel freezes. Memory problem?

Am I doing something wrong or is the box bad? Thanks
