HELP ps2 hdd patches

I have some games on my ps2 hard drive that need patches but I dont know how to apply them to my ps2 hard drive. Do I burn it to a cd and download it with hdadvanced or what.

the best thing to do:
1. hook up your ps2 hdd into your pc.
2. extract the images to your pc
3. patch the images
4. reload the images back to your ps2 hdd
5. put the ps2 hdd back in the ps2 and check to see if the games work.

I still don't understand how to do this.when i hooked up my ps2 hard drive to my PC it does not show up. the hard drive is a western digital ultraATA/100 80gig. If some one could give me step by step instructions it would be greatly appreciated.

You need WinHIP so that the hdd can be read, just google winhip. Also make sure that you took the header of the ps2 hdd so it's set as a slave drive.

well i have winhiip installed on pc and i can pull up the ps2 hdd on it but that is about as fare as i got. need help to patch ghost recon from here.

what you are supposed to do is extract the image FROM your ps2 hdd TO your pc hdd (using winhiip). pick a folder to place the ISO file in, and then you run whatever patching program you need. ppf-o-matic works fairly well as long as you have the associeated patch file. after you patch the file, just use winhiip to dump it back to your ps2 hdd, and put the hdd back in the ps2 and test the game.

i had trouble with Jak3, so i dumped it to my pc and patched it. after patching, i wanted to be careful about over writing the original file just in case i messed up something, so i dumped it back to my ps2 and renamed it. you may consider renaming the patched iso just in case your patching didnt work out as planned.

Thanks alot for all the help. I have everything now to apply the patches but the patches i downloaded and saved to my pc the ppf-o-matic3does not recognise the patches. I got them off of ps2nfo.com.if anybody knows where to get patches that work with ppf-o-matic3 then i might have my $h!t together.
