can you actually boot elfs on a slim ps2 (PSTwo)

Hi im having trouble booting elfs on my slimline ps2.

What I have:
USB Extreme(i bought it)
USB HDD

What I want to achieve:
Booting homebrew apps off the hard drive for free (without having to buy stuff eg Action Replay MAX)

Can some one please help me do this or even just rediect me to a tutorial? I've spent SOO much time on google with no results.

U cant boot elfs on the new slim ps2 becuase they had fixed it.

o real screw that but i got cdloader and ps2reality to work except ps2reality player didnt play movies ( i didnt have any avi's)

Cant you just run some things?
