So, I've had my current laptop for about a year now. It's an IBM Thinkpad R51 with a Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-811 CDRW drive. I've had to replace the HD once, but otherwise had no problems, and yet I find yesterday as I try to burn a CD - a fairly common procedure for me - that the burner, no matter what method I use, reaches the "finalization" stage, then registers a non-specific error and stops the burn, with none of the burned files registering on the CD.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated - the computer seems convinced the device is working properly, and I really dunno what's changed that would cause a software-side error...
