I've had my PS2 for about 2 years now, and the only out of the ordinary thing I've done to it is removed the front plate on the tray so that I could use swap magic with the swap card.
My PS2 disc tray is stuck open. It opens and shuts just fine, but when it shuts, the blue LED flashes for a few seconds, and then the tray opens back up again. I can never get it to stay shut, making the unit useless really. I've looked through the web looking for answers, and I can't find any, I'd really appreciate some help on this one.
I had this problem too, but what I did is something that in that instant I got mad and tried some stupid things. What I did was: Open the PS2 completely, now when its open, push eject and power the PS2 off(with the tray open). Now you have to push the tray all the way back to the end manually with your hand. You will hear a cracking noise but that means you successfully fixed it. Now power the ps2 on again, and try opening the tray without closing the ps2. IF it doent work try it again.
Lemme make sure I got this staight. You want me to leave the tray open, then shut off the PS2 power (I'd probably just use the back switch), then push the tray into the system completely, until I hear a crack, and that should fix it???
I have swap magic with a slide card, but if I bought a flip top, I'd still be able to use my system becuase they tray is no longer even in use, and of course it was made for swap magic, so that would obviously still work.
Any ideas where I can find one cheap??? I've got a V7 PS2, but I've noticed that most of them come with swap magic...which I don't want. I just want the top cover.
