I have a 40gd sony HDD (for my PS2 originaly) that does not lock.
I have configured it with xboxhdm but I cant lock it and because i cant lock it it wont boot in my xbox. So I was wondering if I booted slayers 2.6 from disc (DVD-r) using my softmodded 10GB stock HDD and then unplugged my 10GD HDD and used slayers to configure the 40 from there. Cuz slayers says the HDD does not need to be locked if I dont use my MS dash. Would this work?

PS: Would I lose any information off my 10GB HDD?
