I needed to know if I should buy a new version 12 slim playstation
or should I buy a older version 4 model 3001r playstation that my cousin has I told him I would by him a new on. Im not sure which version would be the best to install a modchip in or the easyest.

Which modchip would be the best to install?

Thanks 4 your help I would like to order it today july 7th if I could get an answer.

the v4 is pretty old, i don't know how much longer the laser is going to last in it.

It depends on how heavily the v4 was used previously. With heavy use, the laser may be nearing its lifespan and make conk out soon. If lightly used, it still may be good for another year or two.
