Possible to use ps2 console with LCD monitor?

Hi, I'm new to the forum and have a sorta crappy TV and am just curious to see whether or not I would be able to use my ps2 console on my monitor? I've got a S-Video port on my video card and it came with a cable that has S-Video side to 3 other connectors that resemble the yellow, white, n red connectors used for the ps2 adapter except their meant to be plugged into.

Sorry if you can't understand what I was trying to say but just curious to see if this is possible =p

most LCD screens I know have multiple inputs. If your LCD monitor has an RCA (yellow,white,red) input just connect the ps2 directly to that.

You can get cheap VGA adaptors out there but a lot don't work or the quality is very poor, the best way i've found so far is using a TV card, if you have a TV card and a old Ps1 video cable then you can connect it that way and use the TV card software to view the Ps2 game on the monitor and then play.

My TV card is a cheap one so the quality is not too great but am sure with better cables i can sort that out,




Also What kinda video card do you have? Most have S-Video port's on them but most of them time it's only for video out(you need in). If the RAC work then your rockin :)

Yep, tv-card works great for me too, though the image quality is not all that. I bought an audio converter for 5? so I could put it into my speakers. Here's the link: http://www.hama.de/portal/articleId*23623/picType*abb/action*2599...

I use it only when my gf needs to watch some soap on tv, hehe.
