Nope, you can't rip copy-protected CD. Technically, you can, but you won't get anything useful. Unless you're cracker.

sure you can. do a google search to find what kind of copy protection your game has, then check out the stickies at the top of this CD-R and check out the appropriate thread to help you copy. Once you unlock the game, you can use WinRAR to make then entire CD into one self-extracting .exe file

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

Seems a little hard. But i saw a user named Camstuf describing how to rip The Sims 2 to his lappy. But it was edited for discussing "cracks" but id love to play The Sims 2 from my pc and not a cd. How do i do that? (in a discussible way_)

I'm not sure, I've never backed up a copyright game before, but I know its possible, the steps just vary depending on what kind of protection it is. Try scrolling through that whole thread and see if anyone mentions any specific techniques.

also, check the CD-R portion of the guides here, it has a few guides for protected CDs as well

sure, use a program called Daemon Tools iso mounter. its free, and it virtually mounts image files as a drive on your computer. so install that, mount the image, then you will be open the virtual drive in my computer and access all the files.

install Daemon Tools. in the system tray (bottom right) you will see the red and silver lightning bolt. right click on it. go to virtual cd/dvd, then go to device 0, then select mount image. point it to where your iso file is, then click okay. now open my computer, and there should be a new CD drive besides your existing one. you can now explore that as if it were on a CDROM and then copy the files
