I just talked to my grandparents in Florida (thank GOD I live in California). They are in Pensacola, at the panhandle which is right were it hit land. They live in a mobile home park, and apparently the eye of the storm traveled right over them. At 115 mph winds, it ripped out the outdoor back patio, but amazingly everything else was okay. I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather put up with earthquakes every 10 years on the east coast than multiple hurricanes every season over there...

and i'd rather just go to canada and get nothing but heavy snow ;-) missouri is a lovely mix of strong winds (tornados) and earthquakes...especially that big one they say has been due for 50 years. yupp, best of both worlds right here :-)

Quote: 50 years
In California we get a big one (magnitude 6.0+) every ten to fifteen years...
