Spider Chip V1.0 Help

I am trying to see if some one can help me. I have a new Spider Chip 1.0 installed and I am trying to flash the bios. I do get the boot screen showing that it detects the drives and gives me the options of where I can boot from. The problem I am having is when I use the controller to select boot from CD, there is no reponse from the controller at all.
