Ripped DVD but what to play it with?

I ripped National Treasure with DVD Shrink. Then I used CyberLink PowerEncoder MPEG4 AVC Edition to make an H.264 compressed movie into one big file (1.9 GB). What codecs or players do I need to watch what I just compressed?

You can probably find a dvd player at www.versiontracker.com or at http://www.snapfiles.com/freeware/freeware.html

Just curious............ why did you make the ripped movie into an H.264 file? You may need to leave it as the Shrink files, to watch it with a dvd player. Not sure though. When you get a dvd player installed, there should be a choice in one of the menus, to "play from a file" or "play from folder".

You can buy dual format (+/-), double layer burners now for less than $100. If I were you, I'd get one, and once ripped with Shrink, burn it to dvd. Most burners come with Nero OEM Suite now, for burning..............
