I recently bought a brand new box and had it modded (i am not sure which method was used for the mod) when i tried to look at network settings after the mod there was no option for x-box live anymore on the original ms dash and i wanted to experiment with ftp (to recover save game files from an older modded box). so... I made an evoX boot disc and bingo, it booted giving me ftp access via flash fxp, I copied the files from c:/evox on Pc to c:/ on the xbox expecting evoX to boot without the disc (as stated in the guide) However it did not boot to evoX but to MS dashboard instead..

So.. been a newbie to xbox i *guessed* that the evoxdash.xbe should be starting instead of xboxdash.xbe and decided to backup/delete the later file !?! (which is now on my pc desktop)

this has left the box practically unusable with the service screen appearing anytime anything other than an original game is inserted.

help!

ps. I used a croosover cable to make the connection
xbox = 192.168.0.2
pc nic = 192.168.0.1

If i could just establish another ftp connection 'Somehow' i would be able to copy the xboxdash.xbe back to xbox C:/

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
