I have a v12 slimline PS2 that is ntsc (U.S.) version. I want to play pal (european) games on this ps2. I hoping that y'all can help me find the best way to do this. I would prefer not to use a mod chip since I dont like the idea of opening up my ps2. However, I am interested in the best (cheapest, easiest, most reliable) way to play PAL games on my US ps2. Thanks for any help you can give.

I am going to test this using DVDLaoder today... it has an option to play in PAL... so I am going to give it a shot. See what happens. By the way your TV has to support PAL.
Well unless i read wrong, what you need is something called swap magic 3.6 with fliptop or slide card. This is the only way to play backups on yourps2 without modding it. its quite cheap as well. You can play backups, and imports as well as PAL games on with this. you can get it from http://www.consoleasia.com , i reccomend this place.
all you need is swapmagic any version and you can play imports i have PAL playstation and bought NTSC version streetfighter ex 3 over the net sf3ex is on cd but using the cd version of smd there is a video mode to choose from PAL or NTSC. i live in nz and dont have a NTSC tv but makes no diff hope this helps.
ps2 crack, when you get swapmagic then maybe you will know what you are talking about.cmzman if you want to play imports get swapmagic. tried and tested.
I appreciate all of your advice so far. Im probably going to go with swap magic, but I would like to know a few more things first. It says in the description that you have to load the game onto a usb mass storage device
"...This function allows you to load your own programs which are stored in USB mass storage device/memory card. Just plug in the USB mass storage device/memory card and boot your PS2 with Swap Magic Plus v3.6. "
how exactly does this work? Do i have to buy a usb device and an adapter for my ps2? or can it use the memory cards? Thanks again for everything.
