Hi. I recently had a modchip installed into my v9 ps2 and it plays backup ps2 games perfectly. I noticed that it didn't play my backup ps1 games but i just thought that it might be the discs since it has been years since I burnt them. But today I tried to watch a original movie and it came up with the red screen saying "Insert Ps1 or Ps2 game" or something. I have no idea what modchip it is but is there something I need to do to play ps1 games and DVD movies? Thx in advance!

Hmmm... No one has answered! How do you find out what modchip you have? If I knew I probably could figure this out myself. But I am not prepared to open my ps2 just in case I stuff it up. Plz reply soon.

i believe you need to try to turn your modchip off. and you have no idea whatsoever of what chip is in your ps2?

does anyone know how to turn off the duo 2 se mod chip i'm having similar problems to modchipz, my slim ps2 can only play ps2 games no movies or ps1 games
