Problem importing DVD files into Ulead Video Studio 9

Hello,
I'm not really sure if this is the right forum to post this in, but here it goes.

I'm in the process of putting The Godfather in chronological order. First I copy the scenes to my hard drive using DVD Shrink, then I import the DVD files into a Ulead Video Studio 9 project, apply some effects to make the transitions between scenes look seamless. However, importing them seems to be where the problem is. It seems to be dropping some frames, because when I go to preview the project, it's a little choppy. Also, I burned the first DVD as a test and that too was choppy. I know the original DVD files that were copied using DVD shrink are good, because I previewed them and they play perfect.

If anyone would be able to help me, whether it's some tips to import the files so that no frames are dropped, or some other program other than Video Studio 9, it would be greatly appreciated.
