On many occasions, I've heard 2x for PS2 DVDs. I've burned PS2 CDs as fast as 16x. They tend to suffer the same fate as audio cd's when you tried burning AIFF or WAV too quickly to Audio. Lots of errors, even with good media, when trying to burn fast.

some say burn cd's faster,
i prefer to burn them both at x 4
