XB Live Related Problem

I have a softmodded Xbox that is running Unleash X version 0.36.0620A and I just purchased an XB Live Starter Kit. My problem is that in order to setup my XB Live Account I apparently need to go into MS Dashboard, yet when I attempt to open MS Dashboard my XB goes to the loading screen, and then freezes, according to the file explorer on my XB, MS Dashboard is there and intact on C: but it won't load and a am at a loss as to what I am able to do.
