My ps2 laser is dead. I can clean it and get it to work temporarily. My question is there a way to load hd loader without using the cd? Possibly using hiip or a similar program. I don't really want to pony up the dough for a new ps2.

i was gonna suggest that you do the memorycard exploit, but it would still need to read a PS1 cd in order to do exploit. but in short, the exploit will run files from your MC, or hdd, depending on how you set everything up. you could always use a mod chip to do what you need. i do not really know how they work, because i dont have a mod chip.

PS2 v7 39001 + 64MB MC
200GB Seagate oem
Retail HDA (HDL Fully Patched)
boot = Launchelf 3.4b
exploit = Codebreaker 8.1 method
