Help on burning PSX IMGs on CD.

Hey, please note that I'm only posting after researching about burning games on these forums and the net and still I'm quite puzzled about why it won't work. So here goes:
I'm trying to use a CD-RW, 8X-12X disk and my ATAPI CD-R/RW 8X4X32 to burn a PSX game with the files, .sub, .img, .cue and .ccd.
First of all I tried to burn it with CloneCD by writing at the slowest speed possible 1X and clicking on 'game CD' then when I went to play it on my modded PSX nothing happened, it just went to the Memory Card and CD player screen.
So then I researched some more, and got Magic Iso, which I then converted the image to an Iso to burn with Alcohol 120% clicked Image Burning Wizard and clicked the Playstation option, slowest speed, same result.
So can anyone who's an expert on this please point me in the right direction?

I'm trying to use a CD-RW, 8X-12X disk and my ATAPI CD-R/RW 8X4X32 to burn a PSX game with the files, .sub, .img, .cue and .ccd. you messed up how you did it. get a cd r not cd-r w it won't work at all for the playstation games to copy one. Alcohol 120% is a good program to used image wizard write and image wizard burn and that's it. if you are having problems ill give you a web site that makes back up games for you. i can post it on the forum

Hmm, thanks but I think I'd rather do it myself.
So what you're saying is that Re-writable CDs will not work? And to use Alcohol to burn the image?

never had any luck with cd-rw but some people do try cd-r they will work

for cds the best and easiest clone cd you said you used it and it didnt wk but change to cd-r and it will work

Okay, one last question.
When I pick what type of CD I use on CloneCD out of; Audio CD, Data CD, Game CD, Multimedia Audio CD and Protected PC game?
I've been told it's Game CD, but some say its Data CD.
Can someone clear this up?

ive burnt all mine with game cd and write at 4x or 2x just which one works best for you let me no how you get on

I decided to use Alcohol this time it worked fine and actually loaded.
Sadly it froze.
I played CTR on Epsxe the emulator before I burnt it and it froze at that same screen until I toggled a few settings. I then burnt it, and it froze there again on my modded playstation. Obviously I can't do anything to the PSX.
