I was wondering if there were anyway to make a ill cropped picture fitted for a 4x6. I cropped it to far and when I go to print it cuts a quarter of the picture off. Is there any safe way to crop in photo shop so this doesn't happen?

Have you tried do the following?? =
file>print with preview>
a print window will open up.
You will see a check box named "scale to fit media" if you have it checked off then photoshop is suppose to auto crop to fit the size your printing. Also look to see if theres a checkmark for the box named "center image"

Yea I tried that and the whole image fits but it scales it down so that there is white showing on the top and bottom. I understand the only way to get it to print on the whole 4x6 would involve stretching the image to fit, but I can't figure out how to do that. So whenever I crop in photoshop how do I know what I crop will fit perfectly on a 4x6? I would think my cropping selection would have to be 4x6 as well, but I can't figure out a way to do that perfectly. Thanks for the help.

This will sound funny but people use this.
1. Get a picture around the house that you have a hard copy of as well that its on the pc.
2. Next get a tape measure(see I told you, your laughing already) ;)
Measure the hard copy of the pic(to make sure its 4" x 6")
Then open up photoshop with the same pic on your pc.
3. Next take the measuring tape and very carefully hold it up to your monitor.
4. Compare the measuring tape to what photoshop is holding(magnified at 100%)
This way you will be able to get closer to the 4x6 and adjust accordingly.
The people that mentioned this don't know why, when you tell photoshop you want a pic at 4x6 or what ever it shows you one thing then prints another.

For future consideration: my all-time favorite printing program is QIMAGE http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage/

I always use it when printing.
I receive free updates as well and certainly, I'm happier because of it! lol

got to menu item Image, then image size. make sure inches is selected if you want inches. (to the right of the measurement size). Go to the bottom of the dialogue box, untick constrain proportions, now go back to the measurements and enter in 6 and 4. Save as, so you don't ruin the original.
