Heyas all,

I can't say that I'm an avid fan of console games, and frankly the PS2's been mostly gathering dust other than occasional goes at some shooters, etc.

That said, there have been a few titles that'd catch my eye, except that they're only available in Japan. I don't have any immediate needs for 'backing up' my games, nor do I feel like that's really a feature I'd be dying to have in the near future. Between 50~90 for a modchip self-install (been a while since I've touched a soldering iron) and 200~ for a JP PS2, what do you think is the best way to go about it? For now there's only one game I'm really looking to play through this, which I've ordered a few days ago.

If you really want to only play a few games, i say you go for the cheapest solution and that would be have a friend who has a modded ps2 install a memory card exploit on your memory card to play burnt games.

If you dont have a friend whose ps2 is modded, i suggest you buy the next cheapest option - Swap Magic Set with a Slide Card. Do a google on it and you should find it easily ;-)
