o.k., my buddy has a xbox, and I am helping him add a new hdd, He has what looks like an alladin chip its red and solderless, has a Lattice m4a3-32 chip on it. the mod chip is connected to a toggle switch. This toggle switch allows him to run the xbox in 2 modes with the basic HDD that came with the xbox. Mode 1 is the original xbox software, and mode 2 is with the evox software. We are attempting to install a 250gb hdd, and I am reading that I will need to install a new bios inorder to be able to use the rest of the storage as all the current bios only recognize like a max 137gb i think. I have no clue how to go about swapping out the hdd and what I need to load and where to download it from, I have 0% of a clue as how to continue. No knowledge on flashing the bios or what I need to load on the HDD (operating system wise) inorder to make it work. His X-box is a version 1.3 I think it was made in 2003 I think week 23 or 24. I have only learned what I know thus far from reading arround on different web sites, if someone can assist it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. Also if someone could assist me in how to FTP into my xbox I would appreciate it! Thanks.
